Did you know that blackberries are the fruits with the highest levels of antioxidants? Yes, they certainly are. Which means they fight free radicals, keep you healthy and keep your skin looking young and fresh.

Not only are they tasty, but the berries are also full of phytoestrogens that reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, food cravings, swelling and even hot flashes, which makes them your best friend at that time of the month.

Yogurt also makes the last super thick, foamy shake, the kind you eat with a spoon. With the heat wave that currently covers most of the country, a cold and healthy smoothie is just what it takes to cool off. I like non-fat vanilla yogurt for smoothies because it adds protein, calcium and potassium without the fat and calories of many dairy products. It is sweeter than natural yogurt and takes practically all the fruits and spices, such as summer berries and sweet cinnamon in today's recipe for Blackberry Yogurt Power Smoothie.

Blackberry Yogurt Power Smoothie

With buttermilk or soy protein powder, this is the ideal beverage for post-workout muscle development. Of course, it's delicious without it too. For variations, try other berries, ripe mango or pineapple.

The ingredients

– 1 cup of fat-free vanilla yogurt
– 1 tablespoon whey or soy protein powder.
– 1 cup of fresh blackberries
– 1 teaspoon of honey
– A couple of cinnamon scripts.
– ice

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and frothy. If you prefer thinner, just add a little water or milk.

Makes 2 servings

The ingredients

– 1-1 / 4 cups cold milk 2%
– 1/2 cup light yogurt flavored with vanilla and without fat
– 1/2 cup of frozen sugar-free mango chunks
– 1/3 cup of frozen red raspberries without sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract

Add all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
