The list of the dirty dozen of 2017 of EWG: What new fruit was added to the list?

The annual report of the Environmental Working Group found that almost 70 percent of the samples from 48 non-organic types of conventionally grown products were contaminated with pesticide residues.

The Dirty Dozen list of 2017 is a great reminder that we still have a long way to go when it comes to our current food system!

Some striking facts and key findings:

A single strawberry sample was positive for 20 different pesticide residues. Spinach has more pesticide residues by weight than all other products, with three-quarters of the samples tested contaminated with a neurotoxic insecticide. and sweet corn was the cleanest: only 1 percent of the samples showed detectable pesticides. More than 80 percent of the pineapples, papayas, asparagus, onions and cabbages had no pesticide residues. No sample of Clean Fifteen fruit tested positive for more than four types of pesticides
