It has been almost one hundred years since Essiac tea was first used in Canada. During this period, many have wondered if this particular tea may be an effective cure for cancer or not. This question is still valid today, only in the meantime some people started using this tea to cure AIDS. But how is it possible that a simple tea is so controversial?
The first results – One hundred years ago.
One of the first people who used Essiac tea to cure cancer was a Canadian nurse, named Rene Caisse. She was a nurse in a clinic in a small town in Toronto and, one day, in 1922, an old woman who had suffered from breast cancer said that she had cured herself by drinking a tea prepared by a man. Now, she was healed for more than 30 years.
Rene was interested in the cure, as she had some relatives who had cancer. She discovered the recipe and prepared tea for her dad. Although it took a while, his father was cured. Then, René tried to use tea as a treatment for cancer to cure others. He made the tea from four herbs and used to give it to terminal patients with cancer, orally or injected. Hundreds of patients seem to have been completely cured of cancer. Although at first he had some benefits, he did not reject anyone who needed his help. After a few years, he offered the tea for free, and even believed that he could make tea a legal cure for cancer. From 1934 to 1942, he continued working in the clinic and curing more and more cancer patients with the help of Essiac Tea.
Her healing was very controversial, and the authorities even tried to imprison her. But due to the results of the treatment, he had popular support: important doctors, cured patients and Bracebridge City Council. After his death, most of his pieces of evidence were destroyed by the authorities. They set fire to his house. Only one of his friends kept some evidence.
A doctor tests the formula.
It was very difficult for Rene to make tea famous so that everyone could benefit from its properties. The authorities limited their rights and was betrayed by a private corporation after signing an agreement. Despite all this, a doctor named Gary Glum learned about the tea and decided to try and improve the formula.
After convincing himself of the effectiveness of tea by curing some cancer patients with Essiac tea, he writes a book about Rene Caisse and tea, called Vocation of an angel. But since it was a real danger for the cancer industry to reveal such a cheap cure for cancer, the book was not approved for publication, so the doctor had to publish it himself.
Essiac tea and AIDS
In a second book, he writes about the effects of Essiac tea on AIDS. It reveals that in a medical project, 179 patients suffering from AIDS were sent home to die. In addition to AIDS, they also suffered other serious conditions. He was allowed to try Essiac tea only on 5 of them. These five patients were the only survivors of 179. He continued to try to administer tea to cancer patients, and the results were impressive. Tea had the power to cure different forms of cancer, in different stages.
