What is a neuropathic pain?
Neuropathic pain is a special type of pain that occurs when there is damage to the nerve fibers, which produces a type of pain with tingling or burning. It is of two types:
1. Peripheral neuropathic pain: Occurs when there is a lesion in the peripheral nerve fibers (A-delta or C-fibers) that brings the sensation of pain to the brain (Thalamus) for its interpretation.
