As our bodies are composed of up to 80% water, it is essential that we have enough during the day to function properly! Water is an excellent base, but our 5 main drinks combine hydration with additional health benefits!
1. Lemon water
Waking up with a glass of warm water with fresh lemon helps digestion and supports natural detoxification by helping the intestine eliminate waste more efficiently. It also provides a gentle boost to the immune system with vitamin C and helps to freshen the breath by acting as a natural antiseptic eliminating harmful bacteria in the mouth. Sayonara mouthwash full of chemicals!
2. herbal tea
Taking herbs and spices in tea not only helps reduce caffeine, it also increases nutrient intake. There are so many amazing herbs with all kinds of health benefits, including antibacterial, antiviral, immune-boosting, energy-stimulating or soothing properties. Many are rich sources of antioxidants that also fight the damage of free radicals in the body! Each herb has unique health benefits, but we love mint, lemongrass and ginger to settle the belly; Chamomile calms down and lemon myrtle, spearmint, turmeric and cinnamon to prevent the symptoms of cold and flu. It's medicine in a cup of tea!
A fermented tea drink rich in probiotics. The consumption of a delicious glass of kombucha every day brings innumerable benefits! The natural and healthy bacteria of kombucha help to help with digestion, fight the overgrowth of candida, control swelling and, due to the brain-gut link, even improve mental clarity and help stabilize your mood Add turmeric or ginger to get even more soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits!
4. Green Juice
A cold pressed green juice is the fastest way you can load your body with easily absorbed nutrients that your body's cells crave. Rich in phytonutrients that nourish your body, naturally energize, support detoxification and cleanse your body. Everything comes down to what you put in the mix! Our general guide is 3 to 4 vegetables for 1 piece of fruit to make sure you are not getting just one sugar increase. We love kale, cucumber, zucchini, celery, spinach and broccoli in our mixes!
5. Coconut water
Coconut water is a natural drink of natural rehydration. It is an isotonic drink that provides calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium electrolytes. Pure coconut water has no additives or artificial sweeteners and is low in natural sugars. It also contains a variety of vitamins and minerals that include zinc, selenium, iodine, sulfur, manganese, boron, molybdenum, ascorbic acid and B vitamins! Perfect post-workout, or to rehydrate at any time of the day!
